Terms of use

The rules for using this website, its calculators and its content.

Last updated: 30 October 2026

General information, not advice

The content on this website, including articles, the tax calendar and the calculators, is general information provided for convenience. It is not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice and does not create a professional relationship between you and Filling the GAAP. Tax law and the practice of SARS and CIPC change frequently. Always confirm the position for your own circumstances, or engage us formally, before acting.

Calculators and tools

The income tax calculator and public interest score calculator use published SARS tables and the Companies Regulations as we understand them at the date shown. They make simplifying assumptions, do not cover every situation and may contain errors. Results are estimates only. Nothing you enter into the tools is transmitted to or stored by us; calculations run in your browser.

Engagements

Professional services are provided only under a signed engagement letter, which sets out the scope, fees and terms of that engagement and takes precedence over these website terms. Prices on this website are indicative starting points and are not offers capable of acceptance.

Software products

Use of FTG Books and FTG Review is governed by their own subscription terms, provided when you sign up or request access.

Intellectual property

All content, design, logos and code on this website belong to Filling the GAAP unless otherwise stated. You may share links to articles and quote short extracts with attribution. You may not reproduce substantial parts of the site without permission.

Third-party links

Links to SARS, CIPC and other third-party websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or availability.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Filling the GAAP is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information or tools on this website. This does not limit liability under a signed engagement letter.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
